Hi,
We have a 7 month old boy through IVF and have 4 embryos in the freezer. I have been selective about who we tell about IVF but am sometimes reluctant to disclose to all that we tell that we have embies on ice, as it can pose dilemmas if we don't use them all etc.
When people ask, do you have any in storage, I really don't to want to tell them, only really close people but not sure what to say, besides changing the subject really quickly! If I say, that's personal, well it's pretty obvious what the answer is!
Anyone else found themselves in similar situations?

I havent been in this situation. Just stick with the "its personal" or just be straight up and that you havent decided. When the time is right a decision will be made. I would reiterate the heartbreak that was IVF and maybe that will reinforce that your not ready to talk about it.
Good luck
xx

people will have their own ideas and judgments on whats right.............
however untill they are faced with the situation themsleves they have no right to judge........they cant possibly know what its like unless they are in your shoes
i am doing ivf pgd preimplantation genetic diagnosis to screen out a genetic disease i have.... i know people don't agree or approve but they are not in my shoes
when i tell people i really don't care whether they agree or not..... they can like it or lump it......

*IVF PREG MENTIONED*
Hi I am in the same situation as you.
I am 36 weeks preg and have 4 on ice also and I am totally confused as to what to do with them.
Not sure if we are wanting another baby yet, but people ask me as well.
I tell people no only one. And then there is no reciprocation from them. Closed sentence. But the people I need to vent to or want to ask for an opinion they are the ones I tell about what really is going on.
I have no idea what to do yet and that makes discussing it even harder.
Good luck with your journey and I hope you come to a happy decision, what ever you do.
Congrats with your family and keep well.

Hi!
I found that people where asking because they where curious about how it all works. We have a beautiful boy who is now 4 months old and I have 2 'frosties' left.
I find most people are fine with it when the process is explained to them. I say better to keep them on ice for potential use than to discard them straight away.

Hi
Am probably posting this in the wrong topic, sorry!
Re frozen embies, we have 3 frozen blastocysts but don't know what to do with them. We're not keen on donating them, but hate the thought of destroying them. Would love to use them but feel I'm too old for another child (at 43). Using them mainly because I don't want them destroyed sounds a bit foolish. Is anyone in a similar situation? |
